Our Heritage

Deep roots in the heart of Sonoma

Fetzer-Bonterra Vineyards was born from a simple conviction: that exceptional wine begins with extraordinary land. Nestled in the rolling hills of Hopland, our estate benefits from the unique microclimate where cool Pacific breezes meet sun-warmed valleys — a combination that produces grapes of uncommon depth and character.

For over five decades, we've cultivated not just vines, but a philosophy. Every decision — from canopy management to harvest timing — is guided by respect for the land and an unwavering pursuit of quality. What started as a family vision has grown into one of Sonoma County's most trusted names, yet we remain fiercely committed to the practices that defined us from the beginning.

The Collection

Wines that speak for themselves

From crisp Sauvignon Blanc to bold Zinfandel, each varietal is a reflection of our soil, our climate, and our craft.

White

Chardonnay

Balanced and elegant with notes of ripe pear, honeycomb, and a whisper of vanilla. Aged in French oak for twelve months, finishing with a bright, mineral-driven length.

750ml 14.2% ABV 12 mo Oak
Red

Pinot Noir

Our signature expression of Sonoma terroir — layers of wild cherry, dried rose, and earthy underbrush. Silky tannins and a finish that lingers like a memory.

750ml 13.8% ABV 10 mo Oak
Red

Zinfandel

Bold and unapologetic — blackberry compote, dark chocolate, and a hint of pepper. Old-vine fruit from our dry-farmed blocks delivers concentration without excess.

750ml 15.1% ABV 14 mo Oak
Rosé

Pinot Noir Rosé

Pale salmon hue with aromas of fresh strawberry, citrus blossom, and sea salt. Crisp acidity makes this the perfect companion for summer evenings on the patio.

750ml 12.9% ABV Steel
White

Sauvignon Blanc

Vibrant and zesty — gooseberry, grapefruit pith, and freshly cut herbs. Cool-climate character with a stony finish that begs for a seaside setting.

750ml 13.2% ABV Steel
Red

Cabernet Sauvignon

Our most ambitious bottling — dense blackcurrant, espresso, and cedar. Structured and powerful in youth, yet remarkably approachable, with tannins that have been coaxed to velvet.

750ml 14.8% ABV 16 mo French Oak

Our Commitment

The land gives everything.
We give it back.

Sustainability isn't a marketing strategy for us — it's the only way we know how to farm. Our vineyards are certified sustainable, and every practice we follow is designed to leave the land healthier than we found it.

Dry Farming

Our vines drink only from rainfall, forcing roots deep into the soil and producing fruit of extraordinary concentration.

Solar Powered

Our winery runs on clean energy from our on-site solar array — reducing our carbon footprint with every barrel aged.

Wildlife Corridors

Native grasses and flowering plants between rows support pollinators, birds, and beneficial insects naturally.

Water Reclaim

Advanced irrigation monitoring and water reclamation systems ensure we use only what we need, nothing more.
